On Wednesday, March 9, there is an event in Calvert County to raise awareness of Opioid Abuse. The event, to be held in Prince Frederick, Maryland, is a workshop that will be led by Corporal Anthony Moschetto, the Drug Recognition Officer for the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.

Attendees will learn about the signs and symptoms of opioid abuse, including pain medications and heroin.

Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse

The event is being sponsored by CASA, or, the Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse, Inc. This group is composed of individuals and organizations dedicated to fighting alcohol and other drug abuse in Calvert County, and also functions as a nonprofit for raising treatment and prevention funds.
