Visitation

Family Education and Visitation

We believe that family members play an important part in a client’s treatment and recovery.  We recognize that education and mutual discussion are key to helping family members develop a supportive and understanding role.  We have found that clients whose families are more involved in the treatment process generally have better outcomes.

Family education and visitation is available every Sunday following a client’s completion of one full week of treatment; visitation is not permitted the first week of treatment.  All visiting teen-age and adult family members are expected to attend the Family Education Group from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm followed by Family Visitation from 1:45 pm to 3:45 pm.  If there are younger children participating in visitation, please discuss this with your loved one’s primary counselor.

Parking for visitation is at St. Stephen’s Church, 1110 St. Stephen’s Church Rd, Crownsville, MD.  Serenity Acres staff will transport all visitors to the Family Education Program on the Serenity Acres site.  Transportation from the church is available at 12:15pm and again at 1:30pm for those unable to attend the Family Education Group.
